The Center for Autism Research and the PASSAGE Program are presenting a workshop for autistic individuals and their families, focused on providing an overview of some of the factors to consider when transitioning into the adult world. There will be two tracks: one for family members/providers and one for autistic young adults. Young adults will participate in small-group discussions related to navigating adulthood and what this means.

Cost

  • $10 for young adults, parents and caregivers
  • $25 for a family of three or more
  • $15 for a professional
  • Parking passes are available to purchase in advance for $5

The transition from adolescence into adulthood can be an exciting, yet daunting time for autistic young adults and their families. Preparing for adulthood may involve entering a new environment, graduating from school, handling different social situations and responsibilities, and accepting changes in a comfortable routine. We face decisions and logistical planning that affect every aspect of life: healthcare, domestic life, finances, relationships, education, employment, or alternative roles in the community.
