DBHi Presents Informatics Talks with Joey Logan, MS
United States
The Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics presents Informatics Talks:
Machine Learning Operations for Radiology Imaging in Arcus
Speaker:Joey Logan, MS
Data Scientist
DBHi Translational Informatics Group
Data Scientist Joey Logan will explore the life cycle of leveraging an imaging machine learning model that identifies and locates kidney stones in Arcus. The life cycle: Receiving more than 2,000 radiology images from external sites, de-identification, preprocessing, running the model to extract features, saving results in a custom database, creation of a custom imaging viewer for 3D CT images, and onboarding external reviewers for validation.
About Joey Logan
Logan is a data scientist in the Translational Research Informatics Group, embedded in Urology and Pathology. His focus is imaging pipelines, deidentification, and predictive models on radiology imaging and other novel data. He has also published abstracts on natural language processing models using BERT and Llama.
Aside from creating novel imaging models for segmentation and classification, much of his work is centered on software development and data integration to run these large models at scale within Arcus.
