About the Speaker
Dr. Benny Chen is a data scientist in the Data Science and Biostatistics Unit within the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics. Collaborating closely with the Center for Human Phenomic Science and Jonathan Mitchell's lab, Dr. Chen has expertise in wearable sensor analysis and machine learning development. His prior work focuses on context detection using actigraphy and heart rate data to uncover insights into activities of daily living, motion, sleep, and other physical activities. Currently, he leads initiatives in actigraphy data analysis, algorithm development, and machine learning for sleep and non-wear detection. Dr. Chen's contributions include creating novel wearable sensor algorithms and driving advancements in the MAP.
