The Division of Neuroradiology develops and conducts research related to imaging of the brain, spine, and head/neck of fetuses, neonates, children, and young adults. Modalities utilized included computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), and magnetoencephalography (MEG).

A broad range of topics under investigation include pediatric tumors, mitochondrial disorders, neuropsychiatric conditions, vascular disorders, infectious diseases, and epilepsy, among others. Division members frequently participate in multidisciplinary and collaborative research undertaking within and outside of CHOP.

Members of the division also engage in the field of Radiomics, to identify associations between genetic conditions and neuroimaging findings. A program looking at applications of advanced multispectral MRI has recently begun.
