The Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Research Network (DBPNet) is composed of 16 sites, one of which is the Network Coordinating Center (NCC) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The DBPNet is governed by an executive committee, steering committee, and subcommitees:

  • Executive committee: Consists of principal investigator and project manager from the NCC, research director, subcommittee leaders, research node chairs, and the elected chairperson from the steering committee.
  • Steering committee: Consists of principal investigator and project manager from the NCC, principal investigator representative from each member site, representative from Health Resources & Services Administration/Maternal and Child Health Bureau, and one member appointed by Society for Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP).
  • DBPNet Subcommittees:
    • Research Protocol Review Subcommittee (RPRS): This subcommittee reviews all research proposals for the 1) significance of the study; 2) feasibility for the Network; and 3) the strength of the scientific approach. The committee makes recommendations to the executive committee as to whether the proposal should be sent to the steering committee for approval, rejected, or sent back to the investigator for further development or clarifications.
    • Dissemination Subcommittee (DS): This subcommittee works primarily with the executive committee to disseminate information about DBPNet and its research studies to developmental-behavioral pediatricians, psychologists, and psychiatrists through professional society newsletters, the DBPNet website, and presentations about the Network at annual meetings of professional societies. As DBPNet research is completed, they will work with SDBP and investigators to ensure that research findings are disseminated to health professionals, policymakers, family members, and the greater public. This committee reviews all proposals to write manuscripts or perform secondary data analyses using DBPNet data.
