The Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics’ Education and Faculty Development group manages the Clinical Informatics Fellowship at CHOP. The two-year program includes didactic and rotational training. Additionally, this group provides numerous informatics educational opportunities to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by highlighting innovations and issues in multiple areas of healthcare informatics, clinical informatics, nursing informatics, translational informatics, and bioinformatics. The Education and Faculty Development group produces multiple events throughout the academic year and incorporates web-based and multimedia learning into several comprehensive curricula.

Clinical Informatics Fellowship

The Clinical Informatics Fellowship at CHOP provides training for successful careers as a practicing informatician, leader, and innovator in academic, healthcare, and industry settings. The two-year program includes both didactic and rotational training. Upon successful completion of the program, the Clinical Informatics Fellow can expect to:

  • Master the core content set forth by the American Medical Informatics Association for the subspecialty of Clinical Informatics.
  • Acquire a complete understanding of the different domains of informatics and how they apply to the practice within the field of Clinical Informatics.
  • Be prepared to successfully pass the board certification examination for the subspecialty in Clinical Informatics.
