CVI News: Jonathan Edwards Received WW Smith Charitable Trust Grant

The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust awarded Jonathan Edwards, MD, a one-year grant to jumpstart studies to characterize the role of a novel candidate target of right ventricular failure. In his grant entitled, "Repowering the Failing Right Ventricular Cardiomyocyte", Dr. Edwards's team will begin to characterize the fundamental biology of this new target using a variety of preclinical models. Based on their preliminary data, it appears that restoring the expression of this novel target can improve mechanical-metabolic coupling.
