Center for Clinical Pharmacology
The Center for Clinical Pharmacology (CCP) at Children's Hospital provides a single, consolidated resource for investigators interested in pursuing pharmacologic endeavors. Established in 2014, the CCP offers bioanalytical support and assistance with pharmacologic study design, implementation, and analysis to investigators within the CHOP and UPENN community, as well as nationally and internationally. With access to advanced software platforms, CCP staff are able to analyze data using basic to sophisticated pharmacokinetic modeling and simulation techniques. In addition, the CCP provides training in clinical pharmacology for fellows and junior investigators. To further its work, the Center is establishing a novel training program in clinical pharmacology to bridge pediatric and adult patients.
The Bioanalytical Core Laboratory supports the CCP's efforts by developing and validating robust ultra-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry methods to analyze natural products, drugs, and metabolites in various biological samples. In addition, the Bioanalytical Core Laboratory is evaluating novel microsampling approaches to facilitate pediatric clinical trials.
