W.W. Smith Charitable Trust 2023 Internal Application

The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust is accepting applications for basic research in the areas of Heart Disease, Cancer and AIDS. CHOP is only permitted to submit one proposal for each research category (Heart, Cancer and AIDS Research). The Research Institute is initiating an internal competition to select the best applications for submission.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on May 1, 2023.

Investigators interested in applying for funding should contact Kayla Akpan for a copy of the Preliminary Application Guidelines. An Adobe PDFof your proposal must be sent to serranokm@chop.edu.

Grants are awarded for a one (1) year term. Awards typically range from $100,000 to $125,000 (including 10% indirect costs).

The philosophy of the Trust is not to replicate governmental funding organizations but identify and fund unique and meritorious projects. The Trust possesses a strong commitment to encourage new or less recognized investigators to apply for funding.
