The new Research Discovery Finder (formerly the Clinical Trial Finder) showcases CHOP’s breakthrough research projects with improved searchability for patients and families to find open studies to participate in and help create healthier futures for children.

Families and patients can use the new Research Discovery Finder to search for studies based on related conditions, exact age, categories such as “healthy controls,” study phase, and study location such as “remote only.” In addition, studies in the Research Discovery Finder database link to principal investigators’ profiles and related division/departments as well as displaying approved recruitment flyers and images. The database allows broader access to exempt studies and CHOP studies with outside IRBs of record.

The Recruitment Enhancement Core (REC) manages the Research Discovery Finder, which so far contains almost 140 studies and is growing quickly. Exempt studies that are actively recruiting can also be added! Investigators and study coordinators interested in including their studies in this central hub of leading-edge research studies can submit a request to add their studies through the Research Discovery Finder Administration application or by contacting participantrecruitme@email.chop.edu. The REC can also set up user access to the application if you have not used it before. The application will generate a PDF document to submit to the IRB for approval.

The REC is planning to launch a campaign to drive more patients and families to the Research Discovery Finder mid-winter and encourages study teams who are interested in using this tool to add studies at this time. Division/Departments who are interested in showing their studies can work with investigators to get their full study portfolio up.

For any questions, please contact the REC at participantrecruitme@email.chop.edu.
