The CHOP Academic Certificate in Teaching (ACT) Program is a flexible, participant-driven professional development experience that you can tailor to your interests and specific academic career goals.
 
Applications are due August 2, 2024. 
 
With a combination of in-person and online requirements, participants can pace themselves as they work toward the certification. This program incorporates established evidence-based resources with local community support as you build your career in academic teaching. The program is intended to be done in conjunction with your research.
 
Key Components

  • Flexible, participant-drive, and tailored to participant interest
  • Self-paced didactic modules
  • Focused on the classroom teaching of undergraduates
  • Annual participant touchpoints building community

 
Program Objectives

  • Prepare application materials tailored for the academic job market
  • Develop and articulate your teaching philosophy
  • Learn the basics of evidence-based teaching
  • Build a network of peers as you prepare for and enter the academic job market

 
Eligibility and Application Process

  • Applicants must be active CHOP Postdoctoral or Physician fellows
  • Completed applications are due August 10, 2023
  • Successful applicants will be notified in early September
