A new IVIS Spectrum is available for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia researcher who are working with immunocompromised subjects and are interested in in vivo optical imaging. Located in the Small Animal Imaging Facility (SAIF), the new optical scanner is dedicated to imaging in the barrier area.

The scanner uses leading optical technology for preclinical imaging research and development. This machine is ideal for non-invasive longitudinal monitoring of disease progression, cell trafficking and gene expression patterns. It has high sensitivity and imaging data is easily quantifiable.

The scanner has access to CHOP's internet, and imaging data can be securely transferred to users' remote storage. Users familiar with the old IVIS Spectrum from the conventional area of the facility (C301) will not need training and can start using the system immediately after SAIF approval.

Please use the SAIF's iLab website for scheduling a study and choose the "IVIS Spectrum barrier" option.

To prevent the spreading of any infections in the barrier area, every user who wants to use the new IVIS must contact the SAIF. The SAIF staff will create a user login and demonstrate how to use the new equipment.

Please contact Sergey Magnitsky PhD for more information.
