The Immunology and Infectious Disease Research Initiative, established July 1, 2024, provides a unified voice for the community of investigators working in immunology, infectious disease, and related avenues of research at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Co-Leaders Laurence "Ike" Eisenlohr, VMD, PhD and Audrey R. Odom John, MD, PhD aim to harness these CHOP-wide efforts as well as facilitate partnerships with external collaborators. Comprising core faculty in the Divisions of Infectious Disease, Protective Immunity, Allergy and Immunology, and Rheumatology at CHOP, the research initiative will further translational projects, accelerate discoveries, and develop novel treatments. The research initiative will become the global leader in pediatric infectious disease and immunology research, from bench to bedside.

Additionally, training opportunities with Immunology and Infectious Disease Research Initiative scientists are available. Interested individuals should reach out to Dr. Eisenlohr or Dr. John for more information.

The Immunology and Infectious Disease Research Initiative will be located in the Morgan Center for Research and Innovation, scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
