The Office of Academic Training and Outreach Programs (ATOP) encourages diverse CHOP-based PhD or MD/PhD postdoctoral fellows and early-stage scientists to apply for the Bridge to Faculty Program.
This one-to-three-year individualized training program supports and prepares postdoctoral fellows and scientists from historically underrepresented groups for a successful transition to tenure track faculty by:
- Positioning program participants to be competitive in the job market
- Supporting them during the tenure track faculty application and interview process
- Preparing them for the rigorous expectations of a tenure track faculty position driving advancement and promotion.
Eligibility
- Current senior postdocs, research associates, scientists, and instructors at CHOP (non-postdocs must be within three years of transitioning from postdoc)
- Candidates appointed to one of these positions — senior postdocs, research associates, scientists, and instructors at CHOP — prior to the start of the Bridge to Faculty Program
- PhD or MD/PhD-trained scientists looking to transition to tenure track faculty positions.
Compensation
- Salary ($70,000 in the first year, increasing in $2,000 increments in the second and third years) and benefits
- Funds for travel ($2,000)
- Research supplies ($5,000)
- Workshop/classes/professional development ($5,000).
