Ashley Martin, MPH, is a project manager for the Impact of Obstetric Unit Closures on Pregnancy Outcomes study and the Parental Trust and Racial Disparities in the Care of the Discharged Premature Infant study. She has a Master of Public Health degree from Drexel University School of Public Health. Ms. Martin's previous career was in behavioral health and child welfare at Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. Her more recent training includes working on REPRESENT: The Health and Sexual Experiences of Black Men Study in the Department of Community Health and Prevention at Drexel University and serving as a Community Profile Consultant for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia Affiliate. Her interests include health promotion and education, maternal and child health, infectious disease prevention, and public health policy and analysis. Ms. Martin joined the Center for Outcomes Research in 2010.

Julia Meurling, MPH, is a project manager for the Obesity and Surgical Outcomes (OBSOS) study. She has a master's of public health degree in epidemiology from Columbia University and her training includes working on the Early Life Factors in Adult Health Study at Columbia and at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene working on West Nile virus surveillance. Her interests include study design, methodology and data collection. Ms. Meurling joined the Center for Outcomes Research in 2006.

Dr. Nabanita Mukherjee has her PHD degree in Statistics from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. She is a post doctoral fellow in Statistics of the Center for Outcomes Research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She joined the Center for Outcome Research in August 2011. Her research interests broadly categorized into Bayesian Statistics, Markov Chain Monte Carlo and Causal Inference. She is now actively involved in different projects involving Causal Inference and Bayesian Statistics.

Bijan Niknam, BS, BA, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 with degrees in Health Care Management, International Studies, and Russian. He first joined the Center for Outcomes Research as a research student in 2010 and is now a research assistant.

Richard Ross, MSRichard Ross, MS

Richard Ross, MS, a statistical programmer at the Center for Outcomes Research, has a master's degree in biostatistics from Johns Hopkins. He has over 10 years experience as an analyst and statistician on healthcare related studies using Medicare data. Mr. Ross has analyzed large databases of patient and hospital information to construct models predicting mortality, complications and other quality of care measures using diagnostic, physiological and socio-demographic information. He has extensive experience with statistical programming packages and the presentation of results at meetings. He has been at Penn and working with Drs. Silber and Rosenbaum since 1991.

Phil Saynisch, BA, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 with a degree in political science, and joined the Center for Outcomes Research in 2010. He has previously worked for the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and as a research assistant in the Wharton School's Health Care Management Department.

Yun Teng, MSYun Teng, MS

Yun Teng has a master's degree in statistics from Montclair State University, NJ. She joined the Center for Outcomes Research in June 2007. Ms. Teng has cleaned several states' large claims databases and generates final index databases for other statistical analyses and model development. She creates SAS programs to general risk scores, propensity scores and time scores for matching. She also focuses on survival analysis.

Min Wang, MHSMin Wang, MHS

Min Wang is a project manager for the surgical disparities and tapered matching studies. She has a Master of Health Science degree in Health Finance and Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Previously, she worked in state health and financial policy with the Maryland Hospital Association, and clinical research with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's Anesthesia department. Her interests include domestic and international healthcare quality improvement, healthcare costs, and maternal and child health. Ms. Wang joined the Center for Outcomes Research in 2009.

Wei Wang, PhD, joined the Center for Outcomes Research in 2011. He has a bachelor's degree in finance from University of Science and Technology of China, and a master degree in statistics from National University of Singapore. He graduated from University of British Columbia with a PhD in statistics. He did his postdoc in the Departments of Biostatistics and Statistics of the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include disease-attributable fraction estimation, functional data analysis, mixed models, monotone regression, observational studies and smoothing methods.

Yanli Wang, MS, a statistical programmer, has worked at the Center for Outcomes Research since 2004. She has a master's degree in statistics, and has developed expertise in handling large databases and creating analysis files from raw data.

Ashley Zeigler, BS, joined the Center for Outcomes Research in 2011. She is a project coordinator focusing on studies related to the Pediatric Quality Measurement Program, a major initiative begun under the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act, for which the Center for Outcomes Research has been chosen as a pediatric Center of Excellence.

Hong Zhou, MS, has been the systems analyst at the Center for Outcomes Research since 1997. She has a bachelor's degree in engineering, a master's degree in economics and a master's degree in information science management. Her expertise focuses on Unix system administration tasks and database management. She evaluates and chooses hardware and software, and she maintains the reliability of computer systems and improves their efficiency. She also handles very large national databases to support the work of investigators, faculties and research staff on various projects.
