In 2004 Michelle started working at CHOP as the first Clinical Research Coordinator for the Regional Autism Center. Since then, the research team has grown exponentially into the Center for Autism Research (CAR). Currently, she maintains roles in multiple ongoing studies at CAR, including the Study to Explore Early Development (SEED), Autism Instructional Methods Study (AIMS), and Living with Autism study. Michelle also continues to perform developmental assessments in the Regional Autism Center of the Child Development Department.

Michelle received her B.S. in Developmental Psychology from Towson University in 2002 and went on to receive an M.A. degree from Loyola College in Clinical Psychology in 2005. Michelle is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She is currently a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) where she obtained an M.S. in 2009.

Prior to arriving at CAR she coordinated a study investigating developmental characteristics of children born of low birth weight with the Regional Autism Center, in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. She has also been involved in the Center for Disease Control (CDC) surveillance project of ASD with the Center for Developmental Disabilities Research and Epidemiology (CADDRE), and in studying memory in children at Johns Hopkins University, and personality in aging at the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH). She brings 10 years of experience to the team, as a behavioral therapist with children with ASD and other developmental disorders. Her personal research interests include stress in parents of children with ASD, and behavioral interventions, with particular interest in the training and involvement of parents and other family members.
