Where We've Been, Where We Are, Where We're Going
The future of autism services in Pennsylvania depends on your support!! Be part of the process!
Do you have an interest in how The Bureau of Autism Services (BAS) is planning for the future?
Do you have ideas on how BAS can continue to implement and expand the initiatives outlined in the Autism Task Force Report?
The Bureau of Autism Services is developing a Two to Five Year Draft Strategic Plan to ensure the important work we are doing continues. The initial outline has been developed by the Bureau of Autism Services staff with input from the Bureau of Autism Services Advisory Board. The Board consists of representatives from a cross-section of statewide stakeholders, including parents, siblings, self-advocates, and providers as well as the clinical and research community.
We would now like to hear from additional individuals with an interest in Pennsylvania autism services.
Interactive sessions are being planned for this summer in your region. Participants will have an opportunity to:
Who will be presenting this information?
Nina Wall-Coté, Director of BAS, will share key components of the draft plan and discuss it with participants. Additional Bureau staff and members of the BAS Advisory Board will also be in attendance to help answer your questions.
I am unable to attend one of these meetings but would still like to review the DRAFT Strategic Plan Outline and provide my feedback.
This presentation will be posted in June 2009. The Draft Strategic Plan Outline will be posted to our website in August 2009 to enable a widespread opportunity for individuals with an interest in the autism community to provide feedback.
How will the feedback provided be reviewed and used?
The Bureau of Autism Services will review all feedback that is received and share it with the BAS Advisory Board. The final version of the Strategic Plan will reflect consideration of that feedback.
Will stakeholders be able to access the final plan that is developed?
Yes. The Bureau of Autism Services plans to have the final Strategic Plan developed by December 2009. It will be available on the BAS web page, www.autisminpa.org and by request to the Bureau at 1-866-539-7689.
What type of Action Plan will be developed?
At the close of the meeting attendees will be provided with suggested steps forward regarding the information presented. A more detailed Action Plan outlining concrete ways that you can support BAS initiatives will be developed together with the final Strategic Plan.
