Researchers Explore Girls’ Response to Breast Cancer Risk

This is the first generation where women are routinely tested for genetic mutations that may increase their risk for breast cancer. They are also increasingly aware of the implications of their cancer history and genetic testing results on their daughters.

Presentation, Not Treatment, Responsible for Racial Disparity in Breast Cancer Survival

Researchers from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania recently published a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) that shows differences in how breast cancer patients present at diagnosis are more responsible for racial disparities in 5-year survival than treatment disparities.
